9 errores mas comunes cuando aseas a tu perro. 9 common dog grooming mistakes

1 Not to get the puppy used to the baths, delaying the task, makes that the dog can hav a hard time when bathing him. Accustomed since childhood and creating a peaceful atmosphere of game, will facilitate the baths in the future. Once the necessary immunizations are set dog grooming can be done.
2 Not to brush the dog before bath time to remove any knots or matted hair. Tangled hair acts as a sponge that absorbs water and then will be more difficult to comb and dry. Furthermore we have to remove the dead hair before the bath in order to be more effective.

3. Not to use the right temperature of water. The water should be at a pleasant temperature to make the dog feel comfortable, i.e., neither very cold nor very hot. But if the dog has skin problems the water should be warm, never too hot because it could emphasize the problems of
skin of our dear friend.
4. To use a shampoo for people. The dog's skin is different than people´s so you have to use a shampoo suitable for your dog. There are specific shampoos: white or black hair, dry hair, long hair, especially for puppies, dogs with dermatitis, itching, dandruff... Ask your hairdresser to advise you the best.

5. Not to rinse shampoo well. Sometimes to bath the dog in a rush or the dog's bad behaviour makes let traces of soap on the hair. This will cause the dog discomfort, itching and even dandruff.

6. Allow water enter in the ears and not dry well. Water inside the ear of the dog is one of the most common causes of infection (otitis). If your dog moves a lot during the bath the water can enter in the ear canal. If this happens, try to dry thoroughly at the end of the bath with a blotting paper.

7. Not to dry. Dogs are slow to dry and if we don't do it exhaustively, the dog's hair can be altered causing lack of brighness, knots and appearing less lustrous. We can also cause problems in the skin such as dermatitis, dandruff, and even fungi. And in winter season, skin and hair may stay wet even up to three days after the bath in dogs with a thick undercoat such as Huskies.
8. Not brush him after the bath. It is necessary to remove all the dead hair that falls throughout the year and especially in spring and autumn with the change of season. We mistakenly believe that it has already been withdrawn with bath, but really there takes only a small part. We must brush thoroughly after the bath and when the hair is dry.

9. The frequency of the bath. This is one of the most common mistakes. No one knows when to bath the dog. The answer is very simple: whenever you need it. If you do not make previous errors you can bath your dog whenever you need it, i.e. when it starts to stink, hand appear dirty after a caress, hair looks dull and lackluster, it scratches without stopping...  You can´t bath a dog twice a year because the erroneous belief that alters the skin. The dog accumulates dirt and millions of mites that are harmful both for him and for their family environment, and can cause problems in his owner´s skin  as more serious (asthma or allergies)
